Do It Now

" Those who make the worst use of their time
are the first to complain of its shortness"
                                                                                           Jean De La Bruyere

That's me, the worlds worst procrastinator.

Have just finished a card ( known about it for at least a month ), and have 2 more to make before tomorrow morning (one of which I have know about since May). Have to take #1 sproglet for an urgent ECG at the local hospital this afternoon (totally unexpected) and pack my suitcase (known about that since February).

Can you see a pattern emerging here? I'm always sure that there will be more time than there really is. Hence buying the little book called Do It Now. It has helped me to be slightly more organised and the quotes certainly prick my conscience.

So a very short post so that I can make a start on all my other tasks!!
this is the card I completed this morning.

The beautiful background papers come from Me & My Big Ideas and Colorbok. Flowers are a combination of Prima  and Hobby House. The swirls were die cut using a Memory Box die.

I coloured the grey organza ribbon using Spun Sugar Distress Stain then heated gently with a heat gun. The crystal heart pins are from Oasis Floral Crafts.

On the inside of the card I used a die from the Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags & Accents set to cut the paper covered chipboard tag. The numbers are cut from gold mount board using Sizzix Fun Serif dies. Only a tiny amount of stamping on this card which isn't like me. The swirls are from  Elegant Flourishes by Creativity Inc, the sentiment is from Papermania.

A similar card only this time for a 50th birthday. The photo was printed in grey scale onto canvas photo paper which gives a lovely finish that the camera hasn't picked up.

Best get started on all of those other little jobs that require my attention.!!

Big hugs
Karen

  1. Beautiful cards Karen. I am also very very bad at doing things. Why do it now when you can panic about it later ;)

Hope the boy is ok and that you've managed to get all those little jobs done.
